As per a study by Gartner, India’s end-user spending on public cloud services is forecasted to total $3.4 billion in 2020, a 25 per cent rise from 2019.

This would position India’s global ranking to be 3rd in 2020, following China and Indonesia with regards to end-user spending on public cloud services.

As per the Study, India has entered the cloud 2.0 era, where organisations are adopting a cloud-first or a cloud-only strategy.

Further, cloud application services (SaaS) represented 42 per cent of overall spending in 2020. India’s total spending on SaaS cloud application services will total $1.4 billion in 2020, an increase of more than 21 per cent year-over-year.

Around 90 per cent of global enterprise customers using cloud infrastructure as a service will take a multi-cloud approach, by 2021.
