Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its fibre to the home service (FTTH), Bharat Fiber in India. This move is aimed at better competing with competitors Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) and Bharti Airtel.
The Madras High Court has issued a notice to the Tamil Nadu government after receiving a petition from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) that challenges a circular issued by local authorities asking BSNL to pay an annual track rent for laying optical fibre cables along public roads.
Surging data consumption and demand for high bandwidth services have given an impetus to the wired broadband market. Atria Convergence Technologies [ACT] Fibernet has leveraged this growth opportunity to emerge as the third largest internet service provider (ISP) in the wired broadband space.
